Here is my first blog post, while I still am a bit uncertain about where this is going. Stepping into this course is an overwhelming experience.
The fact that my means of communication is a cellphone and not a laptop or tablet makes is more challenging and hard on the eyes, yet with motivation and perseverance even less than ideal circumstances can be overcome.
My focus though is mainly on the Haanel readings and the routine of Og Mandino’s Scroll discipline, as well as developing and concentrating on my DMP through the use of the Blueprint Builder.
The hardest part is not visualizing where I want to be in the future, what activities I develop and what my desired circumstances will be, but the tremendous distance this is from my actual life’s conditions. Aiming so high when actually I lack the most basic comfort, amenities, security and financial backup feels surreal.
Yet I have to dissociate myself from the circumstances of loss, of being a non-participant in society at an age where people try to wrap up their career in exchange for a chapter where they withdraw from professional life and seek to fill their life with leisure and self-care.
It seems that the standard expectations do not apply. I have not prepared, and my past professional life as a music producer/visual artist did not bring me the security that everybody needs. Also, I am on an individual journey, and my soulmate is part of the future image I am visualizing.
Through intense mind-work I am focusing on all the good things that I deserve and that are waiting for me, because what works is a strong focus on what I DO want, not spelling out all that I don’t want. Only then I will be able to overcome loss and defeat. Forget what society considers the maximum attainable. Aim as high as you can, even when this defies all logical expectations.
This will be my strongest challenge, to not be kept small by society’s mechanisms, and to break free of all external limitations. I deserve so much more, and so do you.
