SHEDDING THE OLD AND EMBRACING NEW HABITS, GOOD HABITS
My actions are ruled by appetite, passion, prejudice, greed, love, fear, environment, habit and the worst of these tyrants is habit. Therefore, if I must be a slave to habit let me be a slave to good habits. My bad habits must be destroyed, and new furrows prepared for good seed. – Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World
As I continue in this work, I realize what is being shared in this book is entirely true. All our lives are made up of habits. Ninety-five percent of them through our sub-conscious. We don’t even realize what we are doing until we are made aware of what we are doing. To change our “bad” habits into good ones, we must change our sub-conscious thoughts. How is that done? Through repetition and emotion. As I read the scroll and the other assignments on a daily basis several times a day as prescribed, I am seeing my old self being shed and I am embracing my new self.
At first, I thought I could change my sub-conscious by making myself do the work. No, no, that is push energy and that can only last a short while. But as I do the assignments as prescribed, they become easier and easier to do. I find myself wanting to do them. I desire to remove the old self that hasn’t worked for me up until now. I am still keeping the good habits that do work in my life but am replacing the bad habits that have caused me failure in my life with new, good habits that will bring me success in my life.
What is success? As stated in Og’s book, success is a state of mind. What is success for one person isn’t necessarily success for another. I had never thought of it like that before. The cement of success that we’ve been programmed with is to achieve more, be the best, be number one or you suck. That is such a lie. Every one of us is genius. As the story of the golden buddha states, we are born genius.
What is genius? It is becoming our true selves. Living life pursuing our definite major purpose, which is different for each one of us. We were created uniquely so that we could press our unique print onto the world.
I am determined to live my best life. How am I going to do that? By replacing my bad habits with good habits through repetition of my good actions which will in turn become my good habits.

Excellent, Heather, you got it! Keep building on those good habits!
