GET YOURSELF A NEW DREAM BOOK
You can’t hit a target you cannot see, and you cannot see a target you do not have. Zig Ziglar
This has been an eye-opening week for me. Amidst some health issues, I worked on developing my Definite Major Purpose and linking it with my Personal Pivotal Needs. It has been an adventure. I wanted to pick two of the most important needs from our list of seven. I felt drawn to helping others and legacy.
Those are two great needs and I felt good at first with my choice. However, after some reflection, I recognized those are the needs that have been with me and my old blueprint for many years. That didn’t stick right for me – I am creating a new blueprint for my life and want to create some new end results. So I switched them. I chose True Health and Liberty. These needs are called “Personal” and “Pivotal” and I understand why. This change of choice opened up a whole new world for me.
I made two observations. First, in the past, I would not have considered true health as a choice because my younger self would have thought it was a selfish choice. Isn’t that amazing? It follows, I would have never selected Liberty because that about money and freedom.
Growing up where and how I did, I was taught to stay away from personal needs. My mom taught me to live for others. That became my blueprint for life. I was on earth to serve, help and give. Don’t get me wrong – I enjoyed helping people, but there was not much self-care. A great life has more balance. This feels good.
My second observation is about a hidden fear that lurked in my subconscious. In the past, why would I not go after what I wanted? Why would I sometimes give my coaching away for free? Why would I always put others first? Why would I shy away from setting income goals?
Here’s my insight: I think I avoided putting myself on the line by declaring how much money I would make by a certain date because of fear of failure – what if I tried and failed? Or, perhaps even more intriguing – I didn’t put myself on the line, for fear of success. If I made my income goal I might see myself as self-centered. Can you relate?
Reading my story may seem simple but for me it’s awakened new possibilities. It reminds me of the freedom we all have to dream and create. It allowed me to see fear what for it is….just a subconscious safety feature to protect me as a child but not very useful now. The sky is the limit. Amazing things are possible. Get to know yourself and miracles are possible.
How do we create the life we love? Drop the limitations. I read this from Napoleon Hill,
All success begins with definiteness of purpose, with a clear picture in your mind of precisely what you want in life. Napoleon Hill
I’ve heard that kind of things before but now it’s given me a whole new vision of what my life (and yours) can be. My neuropeptides are flowing and I feel the new connections forming already. The secret of life begins by getting in touch with your own heart and dropping the outside programing. Cement. Just ask the question, “Hey what makes me tick?” Get in touch with your power and honor your personal pivotal needs. Be sure to Honor them with your actions each day. This is feeling good and I am thankful.

Ooh, this is great, Bill! You are seeing with new eyes! Being the observer and figuring out what works for you:)
