MKE PRESS RELEASE Francine Bourbeau – PPN Helping Others and Liberty
Interview by Marianne Falardeau, an environmental researcher and science communicator than a traditional journalist. Based in Montreal, she contributes to public discussions on sustainable practices, food security, and the effects of climate change on Canadian agriculture.
She writes for La Presse and Le Devoir, which covers a range of environmental and agricultural topics relevant to Quebec and beyond.
The interview is on a Saturday morning at 09h00, we are both sitting in my house at the farm. My house is a Barnhouse with self-sustainable facilities and with extensions, such a greenhouse to benefit from all seasons around in the beautiful land of Mirabel at the entrance of the Laurentides.
The sun is shining on this cool November 24, 2024. The light is coming in and warming the place. We both have a fresh café and a Apple from the land. She wants to see how we achieved this project and inspired other families to do the same.
How did you create a Multigenerational, Self-Sustaining Farm
o Answer: My dream is rooted in my desire to create a place where people can feel connected—not just to the land but to each other. I believe that true connection comes when generations come together. I’ve always envisioned this farm as a space where grandparents, parents, and children live in harmony, learning from each other. It’s a vision of life that honors everyone, from the wisdom of the elderly to the wonder of children. This isn’t just about creating a farm; it’s about creating a place where life is celebrated at every stage.”
The Initial Steps?
o Answer: “I took my retirement without any assurance of extra revenue, but my commitment and perseverance allowed me to create $5,000 each month. It was so great and what a relief I felt like life is all possible when you trust the process, trust yourself, trust the universe.
o It allowed me to commit full-time to this dream, which has grown bigger and brighter with each step. I remember those first days of planning and envisioning—a place where children can grow up alongside their grandparents, a space filled with laughter, stories, and memories. I was thrilled to think that I could create a place where family isn’t limited by age, and every person, young or old, has a place to belong.”
Which areas have you chosen and how to build your dream?
o Answer: “Choosing Mirabel was like finding the soul of the project, the quiet beauty of these places just felt right. I began building a team with people who not only bring skills but also share the same dream of a multigenerational community. I wanted individuals who see the value of having elders around, who know the power of a child’s smile to brighten an elder’s day. Each member of my team committed to creating a farm that feels like home to every generation, a place where all can thrive together.”
What were your goals and Milestones?
o Answer: “The vision became real, and manifested, and the landmark was there, on September 07, 2024, earlier than plan. When I reached the $1,500,000 CAD. I keep doing daily planning, doing daily work with love and putting pieces by pieces together, with the input or my great team. I felt amazing about such an achievement and it’s more than just financial security—it’s the foundation that allowed me to build a sanctuary where grandparents can pass down stories and traditions, where children can grow up with a sense of history and belonging.
o When I walked the land for the first time, I could picture families gathered here, children playing, and grandparents looking on with pride and joy. It was a beautiful, emotional moment that I felt like the start of something extraordinary.”
Living in Harmony with Nature, how can you achieve this?
o Answer: “Harmony in my heart combined with nature is a piece of this project.
o A continuity of harmony with each other is present in my daily activities. I wanted the farm to be a sanctuary where the young learn from the oldest, and the oldest are cared for with love, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and life.
o The forest holds a sacred space where families can gather, meditate, and find peace. It’s a space for reflection, healing, and gratitude—a place where Mother Earth offers her wisdom and calm, reminding us to cherish and care for each other.”
What is the ultimate experience for you in your community?
o Answer: “The farm is a place where life is shared, learned, and cherished across generations. I envision grandparents teaching children about planting and harvesting, sharing the wisdom they’ve gathered over a lifetime. With each course we offer, whether on sustainable farming or holistic health, people of all ages come together to learn and connect. By growing and selling top qualities medicinal plants, we offer natural ways to care for ourselves, so the community is healthy and vibrant. I can share the way to care for our body in harmony with what I see that it was given to us all. Showing respect and love to all bring peace and creativity to solve any problem that we may encounter.
You have mentioned financial freedom is part of your need?
o Answer: “Financial freedom, to me. It’s about ensuring that the farm is self-sustaining so it can provide a home and community for families now and for generations to come. It’s a joyful moment that I can celebrate not just the farm’s success, but the loving community it has become. With this freedom, I’ll and all of us together are able to share what we’ve created here and inspire others to build spaces that welcome everyone, from the youngest child to the most cherished elder.”
How did you come to have this vision?
o Answer: “My vision came from connecting my heart to my soul, with the help of the Master Key Experience I could go inside of me and allowed me to fell, to vibrate, to listen, to lower my guards and to stop subby to dictate my actions and I learn to re program myself, to be aware of my highest self-awareness. I committed one or more hour a day to this and to unfold this project. My vision became clear. I could see every detail and picture in my mind. Every day, I read, meditate, and exercise to stay aligned with what I wanted to create—a place that nourishes every stage of life. The Master Key Experience has taught me patience and a profound sense of love for each person’s story and legacy. I can feel the change within myself, a peace that deepens as I build a future where families can live in unity and respect, learning and growing together.”
What is your Vision for the Future
o Answer: “In the future, I see this farm continuity to be a vibrant, multigenerational community. I see a place where grandparents find peace, where parents reconnect with the earth, and where children feel loved and inspired by those who came before them. I hope the legacy of this farm is a reminder that life is a cycle, that we are all connected, and that every person, at every stage of life, deserves to feel valued and loved. I want this farm to be a sanctuary of healing, joy, and wisdom that honors both the past and the future.”
To conclude what would you say?
o Answer: “To all who dream of creating something deeply important to your heart and soul. I’d say, hold on to that vision. It takes time and dedication, but the reward of building a community where life is celebrated is worth it. I welcome anyone who wants to support or be a part of this journey to follow the Master Key Experience to learn, to practice, we continue every year to improve and to guide others. Together, we can create a world of love, that’s not just about sustaining life but about celebrating it. I have learned with Master Key that; quote from the Blog Web site “Imagination is the beginning of creation.” You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will. Thank you for allowing me to share this wonderful experience.
