About Me

Tonight, I feel like the best way to share me is to tell you about my day.

An Ordinary Day

I love to wake up when it’s dark, rehydrate, have coffee, do my prayer/meditation time, Master Key Experience (MKE) readings, and watch the sunrise.

Today was the 1st morning this fall, and the temperature here in Oregon dropped in the 30s. It felt freezing despite the sun shining so brightly. I bundled up and went out for a three-mile run. During COVID, my running friends slowly began dropping off. That is when I started running in my own neighborhood.

Even though It was only a 3-mile run, I told myself at least I was running. Connecting with the outside elements has been very important to me: rain, wind, or summer heat.  The bonus of running on my doorstep was getting to know the people around me. Today, hugged Herta and Stephanie!

Then, I met a Chamber friend for coffee.  He is in his 80s and has just recently lost his wife of 59 years.  Over coffee, he told me stories about himself, his wife, and his family and how he copes in this new season.

I came home, and babysat my youngest granddaughter, Mariella, 9 months old.  I just started babysitting 3 afternoons a week this October.  This little one puts up with me as I am learning her likes and dislikes.

Today was a new “first” for me with Mariella. I took her to my oldest granddaughter’s soccer game all by myself.  The car seat is buckled, the stroller is packed, the chair, snacks, a bottle, a diaper bag, and a blanket- you get the picture.  I am very much out of practice, (shocked I did this with 4 kids) but, here we go!

Thankful the day was sunny and “warmish.”   Mariella got to see 3 of her 5 cousins.  My son brought his 16-month-old daughter.   My daughter watched her high schooler play soccer while also keeping an eye on her 19-month-old son.  Today was the first time all “the littles” were at a soccer game together.  My heart felt so happy thinking this is just the beginning!

Looking forward to the day “the littles” are all playing soccer together.

Every day is so different.  Tomorrow is Chamber morning, followed by a series of errands.  I will have fun, I will see people I know and love, and in the process, I will get things accomplished!

My Joy Comes from Who I Am With

Let me explain.  I spent a week with my oldest daughter and her family on White Plains Beach in Oahu. Next month, we will be going to the resort Ko ‘o lina for a week.   Yet, just last Friday, while having dinner with them at their kitchen table, I tried to convey how I love that “ordinary” home-cooked Friday night dinner with the family. I love the salmon and the “special sauce,” but I mostly loved the conversation about childhood stories, memories, etc.  I wanted them to hear my heart; my joy comes from “being with them,”!.

Life Throws Curve Balls

10 years ago, my husband of 32 years went to be with Jesus.  At that time, I was lost emotionally, scared, and shocked to find out how dependent I was on him; yet, I did not even realize it, nor did I ever thank him.  Sometimes, you don’t understand what is holding you up until it is gone.

Don’t forget to enjoy the little things. Smiles, hugs, handshakes, shakas, laughter, the sunrise, a sunset, the change of seasons, the smell of the ocean, the essential oil Frankincense, a simple cup of coffee, the smiles of an 8-month-old.

Meet Terri Brewer

God created our body to heal if we give it what it needs. I love helping people change the trajectory of their health by educating and changing simple health habits. A mother of 4 and grandmother of 6, I love running, gardening, and living at the edges of my comfort zone, continuously reaching beyond what I thought possible.
