Turning 50 next month – that’s half a century of adventures and counting! Pretty wild to think about those 50 trips around the sun.

My story starts with two lovebirds who met working at an Eaton’s basement cafeteria. While their romance had its bumps, it gave me a fierce loving single mom who loved the finer things in life. Maybe that’s why I became somewhat of her opposite: a thrift-shopping skater girl artist with a wandering soul and a tribe of amazing friends.

I found my first love young, and we welcomed our son while we were barely grown up ourselves. Two daughters followed, 12 and 14 years later, making our family complete in the most beautiful way. Between babies, we explored America – falling for Wyoming’s wild beauty, the Outer Banks’ endless shores, graceful magnolia trees, and small-town charm (though I never could get behind their sweet tea!).

Moving back to Canada, we settled into small-town life. In 2010 I found myself a solo parent so I studied to be a teacher while raising my kids. They lost their dad in 2018. Abundance is always present and I was gifted with a new chapter – a partnership that taught me the difference between just living together and truly growing together. Now we’re embracing life in Mexico with the girls, writing our next adventure.

People and creativity are my true north – whether I’m nurturing a child’s imagination, helping someone find their artistic voice, or building connections that last. I’m a study in contrasts: fiercely loyal yet stubbornly independent, quietly observant but ready to fight for what matters.

While I might bend over backward for those I care about (sometimes too much!), I’ve learned that keeping a few mysteries close to my heart isn’t such a bad thing.

But at my core? I’m here to make a difference, showing up as authentically as I can while staying curious about who I’m becoming. After all, we’re all stories unfolding, aren’t we?
