Just WOW!, Jerry. What an adventurer you are in all kinds of ways. You sum it all so powerfully at the end: “Life is about pursuing your passions and using them to make a difference. For me, that means sharing the love of food, empowering others through education, and working toward a brighter, more sustainable future for the next generation.” I especially appreciated your insight into your sustainability experience building structures with bottles. I can also hear your delighted young chefs, learning, exploring, and enriching their lives while studying with you at no cost and developing appreciation, through food, of their personal history, various cultures–all the while creating community for the support and challenge so many long for and don’t have. Thank you Gerardo for rekindling the memories of my childhood, sitting at the dinner table with my two older sisters Susie and Chrissy, my great uncle and my mom sharing our day. As I recall those memories I can smell my mom’s enchiladas, her goulash, and other dishes I loved eating as a child. You are going to make a huge difference in our youth by teaching them skills for life. Keep up the good work!
