Mastering my Emotions
This week in my Master Key Experience journey, I dove into Scroll VI of The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino: “Today I Will Master My Emotions.” Little did I know how much I would need this lesson.
Yesterday was a rollercoaster. I was counting on closing a new account, only for the prospect to unexpectedly change their mind. In the past, this would have deflated me, drained my energy, and derailed my productivity.
But this time, I reminded myself — I control my emotions, not the other way around. Instead of dwelling on disappointment, I chose to increase my activity.
Shortly after, I found another prospect who was eager to move forward. Then, by sheer chance, I ran into one of the most prominent business owners in the area, who showed great interest in my services.
This experience reinforced a powerful truth: disappointment is often followed by opportunity — but only if I stay steady and in action. Just as I refused to let the setback discourage me, I also tempered my excitement over these wins.
Success in business requires emotional balance — never getting too low or too high. Master the emotions, and the results will follow.
