A little Moore Merritt
It Could Be You
I am not the type of person who is easily impressed by “celebrity”. I have never really been star struck and I’ve met quite a few “stars” in my time.
It might be because I know that people, who have been put on pedestals, are just normal people who have a career that has thrown them into the spotlight, or given them better finances than most. Anyone could find themselves in that position really.
Mindless Scrolling
Anyway, I was mindlessly scrolling on social media the other day and happened to read a post. It was the type of post that I wouldn’t usually read because they are often filled with nothing in particular in terms of substance and the grammar is usually shockingly bad too.
Something caught my eye with this post. I glanced and saw “a dancer and quantum physicist”. Hmm… those two things don’t go together. I looked back at the picture and saw a dancer whose pose had very precise lines. She didn’t look like an amateur dancer. I read some more.
Too Good to Choose
In the post the words that jumped out at me were; ballet dancer, Quantum Physicist, Harvard University, PHD, Oxford University, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, English National Ballet. There were actually more achievements in the article but these were the ones that jumped out at me, perhaps due to my English sensibilities.
This young woman enjoyed maths and ballet but not only did she just enjoy them, bearing in mind that she started ballet when she was twelve years old, most professional ballet dancers start at three or four – she went on to excel in both of them.
A Rose By Any Other Name?
Where I am from (the UK) meanings of names are not particularly important but where my husband is from (West Africa) the meaning holds a lot of weight. I remember when I was giving name suggestions for our first child he would say “what does it mean?” and I’d reply “I don’t know it sounds pretty”.
I remember there were names that I would say sounded ugly but his response would be “how can it sound ugly when the meaning is so beautiful?” It got to the point that I wouldn’t suggest a name unless I had searched for the meaning first.
I absolutely agree that one’s name is very important. I always loved my name because no one else had it. I could be certain that if my name was called they were only referring to me. I remember in my form (homeroom) in secondary school (high school) we had something like six Emmas, two Katy/ies, two Rachels, two Jessicas and two Hannahs. I certainly appreciated having a unique name.
Knowing what I know now about the subconscious mind and about how we literally cast spells using words I wonder if Merritt’s name, whether it was chosen consciously or unconsciously by her parents, somehow, added to her success? The definition of Merit in the Oxford dictionary is
the quality of being particularly good or worthy, especially so as to deserve praise or reward.
Plus there was the addition of her surname Moore. I wonder how many times in a role call “Moore… Merritt” was called? More Merit. I know that Merritt’s subconscious mind was definitely influenced by this every day. Wow, don’t we all need a little Moore Merritt in our lives?
Multiple Life Time Achievements, Only One (Short) Lifetime
As I read, I was astounded by her achievements. I sat and pondered for some time. How did she manage to achieve so many things, each of which would be someone’s achievement of a lifetime?
She seemed to be collecting once in a lifetime achievements. I thought about my life and wondered what I’d spent my time doing? I could have got so much more in.
My thought somehow moved to Oscar Schindler at the end of Schindler’s list when he is lamenting that he could have given more to save more people. I then started searched and found out that this extraordinarily impressive woman was only thirty-six.
Here’s Chat GPTs list of Merritt’s achievement:
Dr. Merritt Moore has uniquely combined careers in both ballet and quantum physics. Her notable achievements include:

Dr. Moore’s interdisciplinary endeavors continue to inspire and challenge traditional boundaries between science and art.
“She’s Not Even Real!”
What in the world?! How was that kind of achievement even possible? No-one is this good. She had to be super plain and awkward, perhaps she was unable to express herself well in everyday life. Someone who can communicate through dance and through numbers but not in a real world, not in normal conversation.
You’d think… I searched to find some videos of Merritt. She had to have some flaws… Nope she comes across as absolutely gorgeous and articulate and perfect.
I of course talked about Merritt Moore a lot that day and shared the post. I love to share any good stuff that comes my way. I excitedly told my twelve-year-old that we needed to find something for her to do because she needs “a little Moore Merritt” in her life and Merritt started ballet at twelve “and you’re twelve now so what can you do?” Said twelve-year-old of course looked at her mother as though she was absolutely bonkers.
I sent the article to my husband his reply was; “I think some of her accomplishments are above normal human achievements. I can only conclude she is extremely gifted”.
Sent it to my sister who replied; “You what?! She’s not even real!”
Not Done Yet
This is the thing, we all get astounded when we are faced with such obvious talent and we revel in the brilliance but actually, that’s because we recognise that brilliance in ourselves. Since starting MKE I know I have a lot Moore Merritt in my life.
I now have the clarity and the tools to excel. The fact of it is that I’ve always had the tools but I had no idea how to unlock them. Somehow Merritt was able to access her tools and head towards her potential.
I say head towards because I do not imagine for a moment that Merritt Moore is done. I feel that stumbling upon the post about Merritt was not accidental, it has spurred me on to want to be more a little faster. I want to push the perceived limits.
I know I have the tools from the Master Key Experience (MKE) and I have the vehicles in the projects that I am working on. I want share what I have with others and inspire them to have a little Moore Merritt in their lives.
For them to learn and grow and excel because if Merritt Moore managed to do so much in such a short space of time, everyone else can follow their path too. Don’t get me wrong Merritt Moore is crazily talented but she’s only human. She had the thought, saw the vision, put in the work and achieved her goals.
Call To Adventure
I feel that we can all do with having a little Moore Merritt in our lives and I am ready guide anyone who wants to try. Maybe life has lost its sparkle for you and it is not as fun as it could, or should be.
Maybe you always felt you would be able to help others and have a meaningful impact on other’s lives. Perhaps you have always dreamt of stepping away from the chaos of the frantic work week and dream of peace and living life on your own terms.
Maybe you just want to make a tonne of money so you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, where ever you want, with whoever you want. Whatever your aspirations there is absolutely still time.
Just like reading about Merritt Moore inspired me to write this, hopefully reading this will inspire you to have a little Moore Merritt in your life.

Certainly food for thought and very inspiring when you highlight that she is ‘only’ human. What an amazing woman!
Thanks Janet!
