No One Can Do Your Thinking Work For You

Phase I of the Master Key Experience is concluding, but we were ready weeks ago for the next phase.

The last line of The Master Key System, Lesson 24 is a quote:

Though an inheritance of acres may be bequeathed, an inheritance of knowledge and wisdom cannot. The wealthy man may pay others for doing his work for him, but it is impossible to get his thinking done for him by another or to purchase any kind of self-culture.

We have developed thinking skills. We have done our own work. We have learned that the Truth is within and that we can control our circumstances by changing what is within.

We have learned important strategies to direct our subconscious into making the best decisions for us.

We are again enjoined in Haanel’s The Master Key System, Lesson 24 to hold the Ideal, the Truth, in our mind and so the conditions we desire in our surroundings will become present, be our new reality.

If there is anything in our life which is inconsistent with the ideal, inconsistent with the Truth, we continue to work on the world within until the Truth is fully present.

Whenever our focus drifts and we fail to perceive the truth, we have lost our way and need to retreat to silence and regain the truth by refocusing on the ideal.

I volunteer as an emergency medical technician in my town and a phrase particularly poignant to me in Lesson 24 is

“You have no patient but yourself; you have nothing to do but to convince yourself of the truth which you desire to see manifested.”

It is not infrequently that I find myself having to take on the role of convincing a patient to seek medical treatment, that is, allow us to take them to the hospital to be treated for the problem they are facing.

In many cases it is fear that holds them back, but they need to realize that they do not exist in a vacuum. The people surrounding them who love and care for them are burdened beyond their ability to help when the sick person does not take the step of seeking help.

We must take on the role of patient and medical professional in this area of bringing Truth to our reality, of convincing ourselves of the Truth we desire to be manifested.

The power we have of ignoring the conditions around us and replacing our inner world with the opposite ideal to produce our new reality is a priceless gift from our Creator. Our purpose in life is service. We use this power by holding the intention to help another in mind and we are then connected mentally with that person. As we purify our own mind of negativity, and become free ourselves, so we remove that from the other mind, thus manifesting freedom.

The process we follow in developing our consciousness is fundamental to producing Truth in our new reality. Develop consciousness through precise discipline in thinking for extended times in silence. The formula is simple. The result profound.
