Wednesday morning was a bit cloudy, but I decided to wear my sunglasses anyway on my walk along the river path. My husband Brian walks with me for a quarter mile and then takes off on his run.
Shortly after he left I tripped on the curb and fell HARD. Two workers across the street heard my cries and came to see if they could help me. I stayed on the ground as I called my husband on his cell phone.
The workers stayed with me until Brian got back to me and then they all helped me get up. My knee was bleeding and most of my right side really hurt. My head had also hit the ground. I had my sunglasses on and was bruised where the rim had hit my face around my eye. We were half a mile from home so Brian helped me hobble home.
I tell you about this incident to share the good points that came from it. Very thankful I wasn’t hurt any worse, for the kind workers, and all the help my husband gave me. Even though my eye was bruised and had a goose eye, perhaps it would have been worse had I not had my sunglasses on.
And I was able to walk home. I am only a little sore after 40 hours. I do have a great story to tell my grandchildren!
Had this happened before starting the Master Key Experience, I would have cried a lot more, sat on the couch saying POOR me, and accomplished nothing.
I end this day with love in my heart and I succeed!!!
Thora, what a wonderful sharing of how MKE has made you life so much more accepting, peaceful, and full of gratitude through the lens of this accident. Cheering you on and THANK YOU!
Loved how you turned everything around Thora! Way to go!!! 🙂
I did something similar, and had a black eye for a few weeks. I was able to laugh at the incident. I like your approach, seeing the good. And yes, we both have good stories to tell:)
