In a world that often celebrates grand achievements and overnight successes, it’s easy to overlook the power of small, consistent improvements.
I was recently introduced and chosen to embrace the concept of getting 1% better each day, and it’s been a game-changer for me because I Can Be What I Will To Be! Let me share how this mindset is transforming my life.
The Compound Effect of Small Improvements
When I first heard about improving by just 1% every day, it seemed almost too simple to be effective. However, over time, I’ve seen how these small gains compound, leading to remarkable progress.
Mathematically, if I improve by 1% each day for a year, I’ll be 37 times better by the end of the year. This is the power of compounding in action. I Can Be What I Will To Be!
Embracing Consistency Over Perfection
One of the key benefits I’ve found with the 1% better mindset is that it shifts my focus from perfection to consistency. Instead of aiming for drastic changes, I commit to making small, manageable improvements.
This approach reduces the pressure and makes it easier for me to stay motivated and persistent. I Can Be What I Will To Be!
Practical Steps I’m Taking to Replace Negative Thoughts with Positive Ones
Setting Clear Goals: I’ve defined what I want to achieve in terms of my mindset. I’ve broken down my goals into smaller, actionable steps, such as identifying specific negative thoughts I want to replace.
Tracking My Progress: I keep a journal to monitor my daily thoughts. This helps me stay accountable and see my progress over time as I gradually shift from negative to positive thinking.
Celebrating Small Wins: I acknowledge and celebrate each time I successfully replace a negative thought with a positive one. This positive reinforcement keeps me motivated and encourages me to continue.
Learning and Adapting: I reflect on my progress and learn from my experiences. I adjust my strategies as needed to continue improving my mindset, ensuring that I stay on track towards a more positive outlook.
Applying the 1% Better Mindset in Different Areas of My Life
Health and Fitness: Instead of overhauling my entire diet or workout routine, I make small changes like drinking an extra glass of water or adding a few minutes to my exercise routine. I Can Be As Healthy As I Will To Be!
Career and Skills: I focus on learning a new skill or improving an existing one. I spend a few minutes each day reading industry-related articles or practicing a new technique.
Personal Development: I incorporate small habits like reading my DMP and other declarations, meditating for a few minutes, or practicing gratitude daily.
The Ripple Effect
The beauty of the 1% better mindset is that it creates a ripple effect. As I improve in one area of my life, it often positively impacts other areas. For example, improving my time management skills has led to better work-life balance, reduced stress, and improved relationships.
The journey to becoming 1% better each day is about embracing the process of continuous improvement. It’s about recognizing that small, consistent actions can lead to significant, long-term results.
So, I’ve started today. I’ve identified one small change I can make and committed to it. Over time, I’m amazed at how far I’ve come. Greatness is not achieved overnight. It’s built through the accumulation of small, consistent efforts.
I’m embracing the power of getting 1% better each day, and I’m excited to see how my life transforms. I can Be What I will to Be!

Thanks for doing the math, that is awesome!
This was a great read, I have never thought about the idea of having a “37 Times” improvement over a year… I am such a nerd I had to google it. The math is 1.01 raised to the power of 365 days or “(1.01^365)=37.7834343329%. I think that is amazing!
If we only improved once a week “(1.01^52)-1= 67.77% improvement!
That is still amazing!!! I think we can all improve 1% and be what we will to be!! Do It Now!
Beverly, as always, you write so powerfully about a concept! You’ve beautifully talked about increasing by 1% daily with clear action steps you’ve visualized yourself doing. I loved this especially: “One of the key benefits I’ve found with the 1% better mindset is that it shifts my focus from perfection to consistency.
