The Power of the Mastermind
I believe this is the third or fourth week that I’ve blogged about the inspirations I’ve received from our tribe Zooms—Shirley’s tribe! #bestguideever. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
She is organized, insightful, and a true-blue leader who leads from the heart. Her “secret sauce” is her ability to break down Master Key Experience (MKE) principles into practical, everyday steps, making them meaningful for all of us.
I’ve gotten to the point where I always keep a pen and paper handy for every Zoom, knowing there will be golden nuggets I don’t want to miss. And this week was no different—I left the meeting feeling deeply inspired.
The Power of Connection
This week, we discussed happiness in relation to a video we watched during the webinar. A fellow tribe member said something that piqued my interest. Two days later, we had an incredible conversation on Zoom.
My takeaways were numerous! It’s amazing how a simple statement, expressed at just the right moment, can shift your perspective. I truly believe nothing happens by accident.
Before I share my takeaways, I want to highlight how effortlessly we connected—thanks to our shared MKE experience:
- 1. The Color Code Connection – We knew each other’s Color Code personality types, which gave us an instant bridge of understanding.
- 2. Shared Readings – My new friend referenced Haanel, Chapter 18, Section 17. Because of our common knowledge, I could pull it up immediately, understanding the full context.
- 3. Mutual Love for “The Sits” – We both love our daily “sits”—a powerful point of connection.
(Side note: Wouldn’t life be so much easier if everyone spoke this same language of growth and mindset? Imagine the clarity in communication!)
MKE is a powerful platform for those willing to do the mental work. In this 45+ minute conversation, I was able to verbalize my definition of JOY—something I had never put into words before. It’s not as easy as you’d think!
Another powerful moment? I had the honor of being an observer for my tribe member. Observing is a gift—it allows us to vicariously experience another’s growth. The truth is, we can only recognize qualities in others if they already exist within ourselves.
My Three Key Takeaways
- Thinking of Nothing – My friend shared a helpful hint: In your “sits,” practice thinking of nothing. Set a timer, relax, and allow your mind to rest. By thinking of nothing, your answers will come. I hadn’t intentionally practiced this in a while—time to revisit it!
- Embracing Emotion – I admitted that I wish I could express emotion like Mark J., who passionately shouts his Definite Major Purpose (DMP) three times a day. I’ve never been able to express that much outward emotion. But saying this aloud made me pause. Why is that? You better believe I’m taking that into a sit! I’ll be asking myself: What am I pretending not to know?
- Living in the NOW – We ended our conversation discussing Og Mandino’s Scroll #5: Live this day as if it were my last. I’ve read this countless times, always thinking, If today were my last day, I’m at peace—I have no regrets. But today, the message hit differently.
I realized I had always interpreted it as being ready to die. But today, I heard it as being present in life. My focus has often been on the past or future. Yet, true mastery is living in the now. Unbeknownst to my friend, I felt gently called out.
This shift in perspective is profound. It’s not just about being ready to leave this planet—it’s about being fully here while I’m still on it. My next challenge is letting go of outcomes and fully embracing the present moment
Moving Forward
I’m excited for this challenge! I’m going to read Scroll #5 with fresh eyes. I’ll read Haanel, my DMP, the Blueprint Builder, and my cards in the present tense.
I needed this realization today.
And you know what? Even the slightest mindset shift—just a couple of degrees toward true north—can mean the difference between success and failure in the long run. That’s why we all need a mastermind.
We weren’t created to be islands. We were designed for community—to help each other evolve into our best selves. That is how we make the world a better place.
Thank You, Mark and Davene, for Creating the #MasterKeyExperience!
