The Universe at Work
Subby is on overdrive this week. I got terminated from my job. I didn’t pass the probability period which is such a surprise as I excel in everything I do.Â
I don’t say that in a boastful way, not by any means, but I know myself, I know my value and I know my work ethic. I have never done anything but exceed expectations in every job I’ve ever had.
Now, my untimely (perfectly timed by the universe) departure may have had a lot to do with the fact that every time I read the blueprint builder and The Greatest Salesman in the World, I would think of how the owners were not at all in alignment with the universal laws and how their business couldn’t possibly survive the way that it was going due to so many things being in discord.Â
Somehow it is likely that they felt that, even though they stopped communicating with me weeks ago. It was definitely the strangest situation that I have ever been in.Â
I loved the experience though as it was a fantastic opportunity to assimilate into the local community, meet some brilliant people and learn how not to do things and how you don’t treat people. It was definitely subby at work and I can’t be mad at subby.
Subby has definitely been giving me ways of experiencing the practical to reinforce the theory. I decided some weeks back to give to the guys who keep the cattle underpass which gets cars to the opposite side of the motorway flowing.Â
Each day I would give them some money:
“I promise to give without expectation of reciprocity from the channels I enrich because I know that I am in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving.”
— Law of Giving and Receiving
Initially the two-year-old was very reluctant in the back of the car; “Mummy not give money to the mens.” This could lead to full on screaming meltdowns but over time we got to “Mummy where’s the mens’s money” and “Mummy I wave at the mens”.Â
Every day the men at the underpass would wave at us and say “God bless you Mummy”, “Have a blessed day” or some similar sentiment. They were so joyful and their message was heartfelt.
On my last day, which would have been the winter break holiday, I took them a bag with drinks and snacks and gave them the cash equivalent of what I would have given over a month, as a Christmas gift and a thank you to them.Â
My middle daughter happened to be in the car with me and said “Awh Mummy, that felt good, I liked that”, I agreed that, “yes it feels good to give”. I’m hoping that will be a good catalyst for her to want to give.
Anyway, I had no expectation of reciprocity and felt that my daily blessings were thanks enough and carried those blessings into my day. The day I gave those gifts was Friday the 13th and that is my lucky day. Something great always happens to me on Friday 13th, usually to do with money.Â
This Friday the 13th was no exception. I randomly received cash from an unexpected source and when I thought about what I had given to the guys at the tunnel over the duration plus what I’d spent on other gifts, I’d spent way less than I received.Â
It’s so comforting and empowering to know that the universe has totally got you. It is amazing to see the universe at work.
Such a heart warming blog Rina.
