Blog #15 – Insight is My Friend
This week, I was inspired by our tribe Zoom when our illustrious tribe leader had us focus on section #36 in Haanel. She drew our attention to the word insight.
From the beginning of my Master Key Experience (MKE) journey, I started dissecting sections 30 to 35, describing all the different qualities of Insight.
But it wasn’t until the zoom that the light bulb went off and I told the tribe, “I feel like I am developing a relationship with insight.”
Understanding from a relationship perspective, (I am a Blue), the word “Insight” took on a whole new meaning. Do you want to hear about my relationship with her?
To give this some framework, I pulled out some keywords from each section and wrote them down in the margins.
Section 30: Insight MUST be exercised. (Action)
Section 31: – Insight is a Human Telescope
Section 32: Insight prepares us for success in planning for potential difficulties.
Section 33: Insight gives us an advantage in focusing in the right direction.
Section 34: Insight is essential for navigation from a more excellent vantage point.
Section 35: Insight comes from within through silence and concentration.
On Tuesday, I saw “Insight” as a person, spiritual guide, or angel for the first time. It reminded me of Napoleon Hill explaining his imaginary counsel from which he would get wisdom. The definition is not entirely clear yet. My point is that she guides me and gives me tools to chart my course to success.
This is how I broke it down:
When Haanel uses the word “exercised” (30), I automatically get into workout mode. Insight is something that is built intentionally by planning and executing. It made me think of strength training. Start slow, with weights, muscle mass, and endurance increasing. Practice, practice, practice.
Next, she is a human telescope. (31) That made me think of the movie Moana, being on that large catamaran in the middle of the ocean, using the stars and the currents to keep her on track. The captain of any vessel must be constantly in tune with the currents, weather, and location for the constant coarse correction that needs to be made. It is “Insight” that keeps her on track.
She prepares us for the obstacles so that we can circumvent them before they become a problem. (32) What kind of friend does that for you? Clearly, someone wiser, someone who has gone down the path before. I pictured Insight as a mentor, a teacher who has already walked that path.
In the movie Moana, the character “Insight” is most definitely her grandmother. She is there as a guide, pointing her towards insights yet never telling her what to do or how to think like Shirley and all the guides in MKE. They point us in the right direction while letting us choose for ourselves.
Section 33, “Turn our thought in the right direction,” made me think of steering the ship’s rudder and adjusting the catamaran’s sails. Some of the most significant shifts in life can be little tweaks in our thinking. Slight awareness can change the trajectory of our lives, as it could in a 2000-mile sea voyage.
Insight is essential. (34) Can you imagine taking a 2000-mile catamaran trip across the Pacific where all you could see was the ocean and never stop making coarse corrections? Even when driving across town constant corrections need to be made.
In the ocean, weather, and wind patterns can pull you off track, and even 5% over the course of time, you’ll end up miles away from your intended destination. In life, we also need constant course corrections. Sadly, most do not realize they are even navigating the ship, let alone making daily, weekly, and monthly corrections.
Haanel is clear on this, Insight only visits us in silence and deep concentration. She is gentle, kind and always there when I am ready. It is up to me to make room in my life to spend time with her.
When I sit in the quiet, I can’t always check in with my gut, check in with Insight, and ask, “How do I need to correct the course today?” Or “How can I reframe this uncomfortable situation so that I see the positive in it?”
The list of questions is endless, depending on the day or the tasks before me. The beauty of this relationship is that Insight is gentle and kind, always there when I need her, and brings me clarity and confidence as I correct.
I am so thankful to MKE, my tribe, and my inspiring tribe leader for helping me clarify and personalize this concept. For me (a blue), this concept of life is powerful! This is why Mark always says, “No one makes it without a mastermind!”
I am looking a lot more deliberately at INSIGHT after reading this Blog. Thank you Terri.
Shirley, Wise Woman, Future Woman, and Inner Child are definitely thoughts I will take with me to my next “Sit.”
A kindred spirit! Love it!
Thank you for the personal attention you give to all in your tribe!
Wow Terri, there is so much in your post here about insight! Thank you for writing!!
Arlene, thanks SO MUCH for your sharing who is in your “imaginary council”! I’m inviting these in now, too, to join my others including Wise Woman, Future Woman, and Inner Child.
This is truly an ah-mazing blog post, Terri. Thank you for all the insights, especially your seeing INSIGHT as a personal guide and all the ways you are in the process of building a relationship with her. Love it love it love it! You are a gift to our combined tribe; I am so glad we are a gift to you as well! 🙂
I love this talk about insight, Terri! I also like to think of Insight as being on my ‘imaginary council’ along with her sisters Imagination, Inspiration, and Intuition – I give them ALL a royal welcome!
