This week lit a fire under me.
I fell well and truly behind. I started to feel resistance to doing some of the exercises and creating a narrative to justify to myself to not do the tasks that I really don’t like doing (like blogging).
I let the excuses mount. I could feel the old habits starting needle their way back in.
Then I read ‘I always keep my promises’ for the umpteenth time, like it was the first time. What does a promise mean to me? Everything!
That got me thinking about NARC again. What does it mean for me to turn my resistance into an opportunity? It means persist until I succeed. As Og Mandino states in scroll 4:
I have been given eyes to see and a mind to think and now I know a great secret of life for I perceive, at last, that all my problems, discouragements, and heartaches are, in truth, great opportunities in disguise. Og Mandino
As I observe the old habits gasping for breath, I know that this is the moment where I choose: Starve the old habits for good and embrace the man I intend to become or succumb to old habits and fail to achieve my purpose.
I had a great success this week and I celebrated with gratitude. I had a potential opportunity present to me this week and again I celebrated with gratitude. Bit by bit my situation is gradually improving, and I am noticing that things are becoming easier and that I am manifesting positive results, presumably, from doing the work.
At the same time, I had a major set-back this week, and after a bit of visceral negative reaction I once again thought about the Law of Substitution, in the form of NARC.
What is the opportunity here that I am not yet aware of? Wow, what a transformative way to look at one’s obstacles – especially the big ones.
The opportunity has not yet presented to me, but it feels very empowering to simply surrender to the possibility that it is an opportunity in disguise and ask for the solution to present to me.
I realize I now have the faith that it will. If that doesn’t spark enthusiasm for what we are learning through the Master Key Experience, I don’t know what will.
This week’s homework is the Franklin chart – to which I applied enthusiasm to the first row. This aforementioned enthusiastic realization makes me excited to do the work again. On to week 16.
Speaking of enthusiasm! Maria you could teach me a thing or two!
Thank you Ahren. I am grateful.
Thank you Julie, I really am grateful for your support, and to share this journey with you through our Mastermind.
Thank you Davene. Yes, it certainly does!
It really can be a challenge, but I am seeing more and more enthusiasm around me, especially from my kids and dog, who live in the moment. Hmm, probably something I should learn from that too.
Thank you Arlene!
Thank You Davene!
Great to see you choose to make lemonade…that is what I do with my lemons!
Way to push through Jonathan!!
WoW Jonathan. Congratulations for digging in and applying the lessons. To look at setbacks as opportunities again by applying knowledge is fantastic. You are an inspiration and I am so happy that you have had the courage along with perseverance manifesting your DMP by keeping your promises especially the promise to yourself. You are an inspiration to all those that know you. Thank you, Jonathan.
Completely agree Arlene – life-changing insights !
This is so fantastic Mahalo for sharing this – Loved this line “What is the opportunity here that I am not yet aware of? Wow, what a transformative way to look at one’s obstacles – especially the big ones.” feels like a miracle!
How have you seen enthusiasm in your life this week Jonathon? Have you been surprised by it? Fascinating Challenge
Well done, Jonathan! Great insights.
