This week, I was fully immersed in hosting my men’s retreat here in Costa Rica. The days have been long—4 a.m. to 9 p.m., filled with everything from early morning sessions to late-night conversations that dig into the depths of who we are as men.
But here’s the thing: I’ve been doing my Master Key Experience (MKE) work without any hesitation. No excuses. No second-guessing. Anytime something needs to get done—whether it’s reading, writing, reflecting—I hear the voice in my head saying, “Do it now.” And I get it done.
The power of a promise to yourself is underrated. When you commit to something and follow through, no matter what, it starts rewiring your mind. It builds trust within yourself. It’s as if my subconscious has taken on a new default setting: Do it now. Not tomorrow, not later—now.
Programming Your Mind for Success
This week also made me acutely aware of how many things in life are constantly fighting for your attention. Every notification, every message, every headline—all of them are vying for a piece of your focus. And if you’re not consciously programming your mind, something else will gladly do it for you.
That’s why it’s crucial to flood your mind with your vision, your purpose, the ideas that actually move your life forward. During a retreat, it’s easy to get swept away in the moment—to be pulled by the needs and energies of others. But the MKE work has kept me grounded, reminded me of my own purpose while I guide others towards theirs.
Stay on Your Path
The lesson for me this week is simple: Commit to what you said you’d do, “I always keep my promises”. And when the world pulls you in a hundred different directions, stay on your path. Fill your mind with the thoughts that empower you, the vision you want to create, and keep hearing that voice that says, Do it now.
Everything you want is on the other side of consistent action. No matter how busy, no matter how tired—stay true to your promises to yourself. That’s how you take control of your own programming. That’s how you become awake to program shaping your life.
“if you’re not consciously programming your mind, something else will gladly do it for you”. How true. Great insight Ahren!
Way to stay on task Ahren, Do it now indeed! I’m glad the tasks are helping you stay grounded
