While masterminding with my tribe this week, it struck me how much our work with/on reprogramming our subconscious is like boot camp. Now I was in the Navy bootcamp in San Diego, CA but, I am sure many of you had similar experiences and the protocol from a training perspective is the same.
When recruits first arrive at boot camp, they are all herded into a larger room or auditorium, briefed and then set to work getting their uniforms, bunks, boots, and of course the classic buzz cuts.
Psychologically, they need to be broken from this “individual” way of thinking and identify as a unit with on goal. These simple tasks serve as the beginning of the purge of the chaotic and inefficiency of 50 – 100 individual recruits all doing their own thing, their own way.
Subby, at the start of the Master Key Experience (MKE), is the same. Hundreds of stray or random thoughts, goals, pursuits whose “actions are ruled by appetites, passion, prejudice, greed, love, fear, environment, habit…” All this mental baggage with little to no coordination or alignment to a target or goal, and accomplishing equally little.
The exercises of the MKE aid us in critically observing the “peptide-driven” seeming lunatics we have left in charge of our conscious mind. Once seen or observed, this mayhem leaves little doubt that subby is at minimum confused as to what “We” (all these separate parts of us) want, and is likely busy simply switching rapidly as each part announces an ever-changing stream of desires.
Its no wonder this “cause” produces results, and manifests a reality that we don’t want.
So, back to boot camp we go. Simple tasks, focused upon until we get it right. Marching in lockstep for example, the ultimate in developing a team effort to a single goal that when successful, the entire team/troops bond in pride of accomplishment.
Sound Familiar yet?? Is this not the Blue Print Builder and the “Sit”? “I demand of myself persistent, continuous action towards its attainment…” and “I concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily…” and “I devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of self-confidence” all this point at a constantly refining of the target or goal as in “I have clearly written down a description of my Definite Chief Aim.” The “Sit” serving as the Petty officer or Sargent “Call to Muster” and fall into standard formation, a collective in a standard formation and ready for a particular call to action.
Just like the new recruits on the marching field we all (as observers of our conscious selves trying to inform subby) can laugh at ourselves while learning; Left, Right, Left About Face or even “At Ease” with some difficulty and failing a few times.
But, similarly, when we (all our separate selves) get it, really get it we will all rise in bleachers and cheer for the magnificent display of 100 men and women who have learned to become as one… Subby pointed in the desired direction, making changes in our lives without a misstep.
Truly Inspiring work you all are doing, Stand Tall and Proud, you are the few who dare to risk it all in the pursuit of your dreams!
Excellent, Robert – that is a great way to think about MKE, just like boot camp/basic training.
