Purple For The Win
It was colour code week so I guess I should talk about colour code. What a fantastic revelation it is! Well, ok perhaps not a revelation because my husband, the blue, had done the test in the past and knew he was a blue. He, of course, could have shared that with me, could have said “Darling, I found out I’m a blue.
Why don’t you also do the colour code test and then we’ll have an insight into each other’s personalities and we’ll be able to live harmoniously, forever. Each of us will be aware of the other’s strengths, limitations, needs and wants”.
No, that of course did not happen. He tells me he did the test years ago. I, of course, did not say anything, not wanting to upset his overly sensitive nature…I did not need to know that he is a blue in order to know that he is overly sensitive and moody.
Knowing he’s a blue did, however, explain a lot. It made so many of the issues that we have had over the years easier to understand. With more study and awareness, I think that we can really change and improve our relationship. There’s no doubt about it.
However, somehow over the years I seem to have developed a special knack to absolutely do every single one of his “dont’s”, almost all of the time. Somehow, he, especially coming from the viewpoint of being an African male, manages to constantly do every single one of my “dont’s”. It is a wonder that we have been together for so long.
What has kept us going for so long, will be clear to anyone who has done the colour code test or has knowledge of it; That’s right, luckily my willingness to experience challenging adventure and also, my ability to tightly hide insecurities has paid off so far.
Another feature that goes a long way to making the most of my colours natural, obstacle overcoming, overachieving abilities, is the simple, yet undeniably obvious fact that my colours’ “limitations” are just slightly misunderstood/misinterpreted strengths.
On a serious note, I didn’t make the connection until now about how it’s possible to speak to all of the colours in things like emails or publicity material. I’m going to be doing that a lot now. It’s also great fun guessing what colours friends and family members are.
I’m going to really attempt to speak to people’s colours from now on. (Oh and I absolutely did spell colour correctly all the way through this blog).
Beautiful and clever. You are a gem.
Yes you did spell colour correctly haha
