Like you, my life is brimming with stimulation. I am an entrepreneur, a contrarian, a father, a husband, a mentor, and a student embarking in the Master Key Experience. Life has dealt me great success, and life has dealt be devastating blows.

There is a quote from the Russel Crow variation of Robin Hood that struck me – “rise and rise again until lambs become lions”. I identify with this credo deeply. But how do I rise to become a lion without any further falls?

It seems the hardest work for me is the stillness. The 15 minutes a day without moving, reacting, or having distractions. I worked through the ColorCode/Standing Tall, and the Think and Grow Rich trainings, and the thing that I could not conquer was the silent sit.

I have always struggled to get a quiet mind. I have always struggled to relax. I have always struggled to be still. I do not do well with noise or chaos, yet I constantly draw this to myself. It’s not hard to see there is deep subconscious programming to chaos. Something I need to unpack, unravel, and reprogram. Let’s put that in the past, shall we?

I live in a small home, I work from home, I homeschool my energetic children. Chaos and Noise! I have tried the sit at night after bedtime, but I seem to always fall asleep. I have tried getting up super early, but the kiddos always hear me. I have tried to use earphones and soothing music, but if you are a parent then you know, that if you are sitting still, then you are fair game, so I get poked, prodded and tugged at.

Children, especially their tummies, will not be ignored! And really, trying to drown them out with earphones sends the wrong message – It just doesn’t feel right, or good.

The best I have managed so far, is to go for a walk with the dog, every day, and attempt walking meditation. This actually is quite effective for me, it allows my imagination to flow, it is where I find my solutions, my inspirations and my relief from unrelenting stimuli, but I’m it sure it is really not hitting the mark for a 15 minute quiet sit. This is definitely my greatest challenge to date, and I allow it to challenge my positive mental attitude.

The image of the balanced rocks in the waterfall reminds of the constant, unrelenting barrage of chaos and stimulation, but it also gives me inspiration to aspire to be well balanced and immovable amidst all the forces beyond my control. It reminds me to fucus on what I can control… my thoughts, my habits, my attitude.

I have high expectations of myself, and I have faith that I can reach those heights, and I trust that the Master Key Experience will be instrumental to find my path to fulfilment. Step one – mastering my 15 minutes!
