Whew! Certainly a shock to the system, especially for someone who has not had such intense study since my university days some 30+ years ago! It seemed daunting, and I resisted and procrastinated – suddenly my floor needed sweeping, oh look, my pots need re-arranging! All this was by old blueprint acting, look for excuses to avoid just getting stuck in.
Well, this morning, as I awoke, I made myself tackle the issue head-on. I watched the introductory video, downloaded the necessary files, did the necessary readings. The sitting still exercise was definitely a challenge, but I set my timer for 15 minutes and just sat still, and before I knew it, the alarm sounded.
It wasn’t all plain sailing, though – muscle cramps, facial itches, scattered thoughts, wandering eyes made me far from the image of the serene Buddhist I had in mind as an example! But with daily practice and meditation on my readings, it will surely get better with time.
As for the DMP – I did not know where to start, what to do, so I re-watched part of the first session and read through the outline notes, then hand wrote it in point form in permament marker, then in in full sentence and paragraph form in a text document. I am eager to learn from my guide what I need to get right, to perfect it, and make it my daily mantra.
Breaking the cement is a difficult task, but with perseverance and dedication and by steadfastly following the guidelines of Mike, Fab D and team, the Golden Buddha within is sure to surface! The next 6 months promises to be a thrilling journey of discovery and growth, and this will carry forward into a life-long alliance with you marvelous guys!
So quan and show me the honey!
