But the same intensity that makes the job exciting can also make it draining. A difficult client, a missed lunch break, or the occasional color mishap can easily leave me feeling frazzled. Those are the moments when negative thoughts sneak in, whispering things like, “You’re not good enough,” or, “Why didn’t you handle that better?”
As stylists, we’re often perfectionists. We care deeply about our craft and our clients, but sometimes we forget to care for ourselves. Learning to manage the emotional weight of the job has been one of the most important lessons of my career.
