Power of Concentration
This week in the Master Key Experience, something really stood out to me—a line from Lesson 17. It said, “Concentration does not mean the thinking of thoughts, but the transmutation of these thoughts into practical values.” Wow. That’s a big idea, isn’t it?
Haanel explains that concentration is one of the greatest powers we can develop. When we focus our mind on a single idea and persist, we can transform it into reality. Concentration is about channelling our energy into meaningful action, not just daydreaming.
I used to think being inspired or having a moment of excitement after reading a book or going to a seminar was enough to change my life. But that excitement never lasted. I’d go back to my old habits and wonder why nothing changed. Now, I realize why: I wasn’t doing the work to become the person who could achieve those dreams.
The Master Key is teaching me that it’s not about “having” something right away—like success, money, or freedom. It’s about learning to “become” the kind of person who creates those things. That’s a process that takes focus, persistence, and self-confidence.
Momentary enthusiasm fades. True growth happens when I concentrate, act on my thoughts, and believe in myself. This journey isn’t easy, but it’s helping me build a foundation for lasting change. To “be” is the first step to “have.”
