I Changed Just One Thing: World of Difference!
I’m not totally sure what prompted the thought – maybe it was hearing Mark mention that he does other sits during the day – this was a few months back. Maybe it was the fact that I was so late in doing my year-end review and setting new “goals” for this year.
Anyways a few weeks back, during one version of my “goal” planning for 2025, this format had us look at 7 different areas of our life and determine 2 things for each area that we would like to work on this year.
One of those 7 areas was “spiritual”. Now, I’ve been doing time blocking for a month now, and by the time I was looking at this goal planner, it was mid-January. I was already realizing that there were areas of activities that I was not time-blocking very well, and one big one that popped out for me was having more time for spiritual work.
My daily activities to improve my DMP already included reading books, watching videos, etc., but it wasn’t enough. I didn’t feel like I needed to do a big thing, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted
Then it hit me – I really wanted to add another sit or two during the day. These sits are not tied to the MKE lesson.
I just use the lesson 17 concept of just relaxing into one thought for that sit and just letting go of the outcome. Generally I had done the sits with my eyes closed, as I’m less distracted, but when I started the first extra sit, I had to open my eyes to quickly grab a pen and paper, as the thoughts were spilling out of my head. I wrote for the entire 15 minutes!
That has happened every day for the past week plus, during my lunch or afternoon sit. If I add a sit at night, if it’s too late, I fall asleep during it. So now I’m trying to do the 2 extra sits earlier, with one at lunch and one in the late afternoon or right after dinner.
During these sits, I was able to focus on a new income stream for me. I received a new tribe name, my target audiences, the logo and other items to be designed, the layout for the membership, the course layouts, the whole offer to get new members – all of this was done by just focusing on one concept when I enter the sit and then my mind just spit it all out.
It probably helped that I had given my subconscious permission to go to town on it all, so that by the time I was thinking about one part, it was ready with the answers for my conscious mind to tell me to write down.
I have always done a form of automatic writing to get stuff out of my head, especially frustrations, but it had been awhile since I had thought to focus on constructive thoughts. Even this morning, as we were supposed to battleship it during our morning sit, I “cheated” and thought about this new business from the end, and what that success would look like.
I managed to capture most of that concept and was starting to work backwards when I ran out of time. Now I can pick up those threads during more of my sits. I’m so excited by the ease of it all. Now I just need to execute those plans

Wow, that is amazing, Paula! What a great idea. I think I will try that, at least on some days.
