Living a Life of Purpose, With Purpose, And On Purpose

The life of Aimee Mullins is an inspiring picture of a woman whose life reflects the steps one passes through living out the Hero’s Journey. Born missing the critical second bones in her lower limbs, her legs are amputated early in her life and she knows life no other way.

Those of us who have not had such physical limitations and yet have not accomplished in life what she has are astonished at her success and positive mental attitude.

She has discovered a definite major purpose for her life and it is infused with enthusiasm, emotion and belief. She is driven by her passion to be free of the limitations imposed by her physical being and infuse this in the world at large.

Her passion and confidence have brought inspiration to others and drawn them into her dream. She didn’t have the means herself to bring about her definite major purpose but as she presented the dream, what she truly wanted, others joined in with that dream and brought their resources, talents and gifts to bear.

As we watch her speak and present her dreams and understand how she never sees her limitations as obstacles that prevent her from success rather as opportunities for service to others we are ourselves drawn to a higher understanding of the possibilities for ourselves are we embark on our own Hero’s Journey.

Aimee is only one of hundreds of inspiring men and women who have dreams but don’t allow their limitations to prohibit them from following their dreams. We can use each of them to lead us on our own journeys through showing us the way of persistence: having a definite major purpose, a positive mental attitude, a written plan of action and mastermind alliance.

Aimee is missing part of her legs but we are all missing something as we move along our journey and as we discover what is missing our positive mental attitude and reprogramming of our subconscious allow us to overcome the obstacles and forge a new path to achieve our definite major purpose.

She lives her life as an extension of her miraculous birth by being of service to the good of mankind without expectation of reciprocity. She is charting a new path and where do ideas for a new path originate? In the quiet moments of meditation on the definite major purpose.

We observe Aimee’s courage as she lives out her life of service, ego is gone and her light shines all around. The habits of persistence are evident as she tells her story and she lives her life above all in demonstration of the power we all possess.
