The Sit
The best part of MKE is the sits! We talked about this in our polo group on Tuesday. Our guide asked if anybody likes to sit as much as she does. It was then that I realized this is my favorite part of MKE.
It could be because I like to sit and think in the stillness of the early morning hours before everybody is awake. I’ve had this habit for many years, maybe even decades. (The color code says I am 15% white and 37% blue.)
I like peacefulness, but I tend to overthink everything. 😂😂😂 [Side note: Only in MKE can I explain myself so quickly and precisely with just one short statement.]
The most significant change since the MKE program is the quality of my sits. Initially, it started as prayer time. But over the years, it has evolved, taking on different seasons. It began as prayer time with God, meaning I did all the talking, thanking, and requesting. Eventually, it was more of a checklist. Over time, it evolved into lots of journaling.
I read the book, The Miracle Morning, and my time morphed taking suggestions from Hal Elrod. Then, after my husband passed away, I incorporated the 21-day detox with Dr. Carolyn Leaf to change the structure of my brain. Theoretically, it was only supposed to take 10 minutes a day. This blue/white gal always to do at least 30 minutes.
I have had a lot of different strategies in the mornings. These were all good things to do and it served a purpose at the time. It has been my time to connect with my creator, which has kept me anchored despite what was going on in my life, even in the hardest times.
Since MKE, my sits have elevated tenfold. I feel like MKE has been the “Grant Cardone 10 X” of my sits. What do I mean by that? With what I have learned from Haanel, I am now able to:
- (1) Have “focused” sits. I can now better understand the power of thought and focused energy and apply this knowledge to real life. I’m learning to turn my daydreaming and my wishes into clear, focused ideas and goals. No longer do my thoughts just dissipate. I am getting better and better at focusing my energy.
- (2) I connect my intuition and my relationship with God in a way that I have known cognitively before the readings. Previously, I wasn’t confident enough to “own it” and consciously acknowledge the “God in Me.” The true application of intuition is something I am intentionally exploring.
- (3) Haanel has opened my mind to the literal energetic power of thought. In chapter 17, he describes us as being a Dynamo, a generator, a forceful, energetic individual. He describes focused thought using the word “voltage” and brain cells as an army working for you if you know how to direct and command your army. These are all new, fresh concepts to me. However, once one is aware of them, how can you not want to make use of this power.
I’ve never thought so much about clarifying my goals with utmost detail until the master key experience. Words matter. The words and how we say them are far more powerful than I ever realized. Now, I cannot help but notice how negatively people talk to themselves out loud. Yet, at one time, that was me.
Thank you, MKE! Thank you once again for upgrading my life. Maybe it is because I’m blue and am so drawn to people, but I noticed this year that I will try harder for others than I will for myself. I sincerely appreciate my tribe. You all bring out the best part of me.
And I learned so much from each and every person in the group. Between the Zoom calls and the polos, I can pick out examples from the members on a weekly basis for examples for my makeover. Just another blessing we receive from the community.
MKE isn’t just a regular community like the many groups I have participated in. Here, we are focused; we have shared knowledge through the readings and webinars, and we have a goal to chip off the cement and discover our own Hero’s Journey. Thank you, tribe! You’re the best!
Terri, I am so glad you have such an incredible guide this year leading your tribe zooms conversations so well. I’m so happy to hear how your sit has evolved. You have always been so dedicated to your growth. I’ve always been amazed and thrilled to call you friend.
