Give Yourself Permission to be Happy
“You can’t just decide to be happy, but you can decide to let go of the habits that bring you down and prioritize the choices that feed your spirit.” – Lori Deschene
After watching the Week 17 video, I realized I have not given myself permission to be happy. Over the years, I have unfortunately developed a negative feeling towards being happy in the sense of doing things that bring joy to my life. Being a caregiver I often feel a need to break away to relax and unwind.
I have already faced health issues due to not managing my stress properly in the past. I prefer to take a break rather than my body deciding it needs a break. When that happens I slow down for a while until I physically feel better.
Unfortunately the demands of providing and doing things for someone are still there. As I try to recover, it takes longer to bounce back. The delay causes me to be sad although I want to feel better and be happy.
In MKE we have learned about Neurological Associative Reactive Conditioning or NARC. NARC utilizes the Law of Dual Thought which states “we can attach any feeling to a thought we want.” My Definite Major Purpose or DMP includes achieving things that will fill me with happiness and joy.
If I truly want to manifest it I have to consistently stay focused on my DMP, spend time mentally living it and enjoy each moment on my way to grasping the target. I also have to realize taking time for myself is important to my mental and physical health. Nothing about it is selfish.
People may need you for a moment but the gal in the glass will hold you responsible if you are not moving towards manifesting the things that make you happy.
“Realize that true happiness lies with you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside.” – Og Mandino

The concept to give our selves permission to be happy, to be successful, permission to win at life!! Its so foreign to us. This was a huge mind shift for me
