The Power of a Hug
A Real-Life Example of Week 17’s MKE Reading on Concentration
The Random Act of Kindness (RAK) Challenge is a cherished tradition in the Master Key Experience (MKE), and one of the most touching examples comes from Mark J. and his team: giving out Free Hugs.
This beautifully simple act of kindness brings to life the principles in Charles Haanel’s The Master Key System, Part Seventeen, especially the idea of concentration as a force to align thoughts and conditions with spiritual truths.
Setting the Stage
The Free Hugs campaign wasn’t just about wrapping arms around strangers — it was about being fully present and radiating love and connection in each moment.
It started with an intention in perfect harmony with natural law: to bring warmth and joy to others. This act demanded the type of concentration described in the MKE reading — not forced effort, but a relaxed and focused presence where the giver and receiver shared a moment of pure, unfiltered kindness.
Mark J. and his team concentrated on the idea that love and connection already existed. They weren’t creating joy — they were uncovering it, trusting the subconscious mind and the truth of universal harmony to bring their intentions to life.
Concentration in Action
The success of Free Hugs wasn’t random. It showcased how concentration can activate invisible forces and align external conditions with internal thoughts.
By deeply focusing on unconditional love, the participants created a space where their intentions naturally resonated with the needs of others. Their energy became magnetic, drawing in people who may not have even realized how much they needed a simple hug.
In this way, the act of giving Free Hugs was a living, breathing metaphor for the teachings in Part Seventeen. Concentration isn’t about strain — it’s about immersing yourself so deeply in an ideal that everything else fades away. In those shared moments, both the givers and receivers experienced an unspoken connection that transcended words.
Spiritual Truths in Motion
The reading emphasizes that desires in harmony with natural law are always realized. Free Hugs exemplified this perfectly. The act was pure, aligned with the universal need for love and connection, and driven by genuine intention. This alignment allowed the participants’ goal of spreading joy to be fulfilled effortlessly.
The hugs transformed the environment and the people in it, demonstrating the subconscious mind’s incredible power to bring focused thoughts into reality. A simple hug sparked smiles, laughter, and even tears of gratitude — tangible evidence of the ripple effect of positivity that comes from aligning actions with spiritual truths.
Thank You for the Inspiration!
A huge shout-out to Mark J. and the MKE team for creating such an inspiring display of kindness and love! All I know is that this was so motivating, and I’m sure many of us are now ready to take up the challenge of giving Free Hugs.
Imagine the waves of love and joy we can send out into the world — one hug at a time! Who’s in? Grab a “Free Hugs” sign, join the movement, and let’s spread kindness like confetti. The magic starts with us!
