What You Think About Grows
This week was a hard week. I just remembered that I have to post this blog in a few hours. My dad got hospitalized and had a second surgery on his right hip. I went to visit him on Sunday, and he seemed to have a lot of discomfort and pain.
The nurse said he had taking painkillers, on Monday he had a routinary check up at the hospital and there they saw that his right hip surgery had got wrong, the screw had damaged some blood vessels and led to necrosis of his bone. I had to go to the hospital and a friend offered to take me there.
My dad was screaming with pain and tremendously tired, I tried to have eye contact with him and when I managed to do it he seemed to be very very far away. The friend that went with me could not hold back his tears as he saw how much my dad was suffering and felt helpless in that he could not alleviate his pain.
My dad got a second surgery to get out the screw and clean up the bone, unfortunately they could not put a hip replacement. They are going to see if he does ok, if not they will have to do another surgery. At least he seems to have a bit less pain.
Just a few hours ago the surgeon told me my dad could go back to his elderly care home and that they did some brain tests on him to see if they could help him but unfortunately there is not anything more they can do. He is having cognitive impairments, it is more and more difficult to communicate with him, he is very quiet and can not speak much.
Many times I do not know if he says yes and means no, Parkinson, he had a stroke some months ago and advanced dementia. A lot of people prayed for him, more than 700 which I am happy and grateful for. I made a few prayers request in some groups and got a big response.
So it brings me to think about what we are learning which is what you think about grows and we better watch out for what we think about the most.

I pray for you dad and send a big hug to you Benjamin.
