The work continues and catching up is a good lesson and reminder to do the work in the week it is assigned!
Every morning this week, I left my bed a little earlier and brought myself to the mirror (mostly half-awake!) and read “The Gal in the Glass.” It’s weird looking myself in the eyes and saying “I love you.”
At first, it was really awkward and I looked around to make sure no one was watching! But you know, it was sweet in the end, and if I spent too much time thinking how long I didn’t show love to myself and how that may have translated to my kids, ah, well…
With that said nothing changes if nothing changes. But in the moment these thoughts are noted and transformed because along with the mirror chats, I’ve been practicing the 7-day mental diet.
You know what? These two things are starting to click together in the sweetest of ways. I’m becoming even more compassionate with the person in the mirror while learning to move beyond well really most things I have opinions on.
Really seeing where my lane is, what to tend to, and how to carry on without getting hung up on non-relevant details!!
Sorry, it’s short because I am on a mission and in the flow. But first, I just want to send love to all of you because Holy Crow, look at us taking the reins for ourselves.
The “Mental Diet” and the “Gal in the Glass” are powerful tools in the MKE arsenal. It’s great to know, Dre, how well you’re putting them to use!
