Kindness: an Act that Comes from the Heart
When it comes to kindness: “the more you give, the more you get”. I’ve discovered that when I do something kind for someone else, it fills a need inside me.
That need isn’t for recognition or praise but for connection, for sharing heart to heart as a full human being, capable of making the world a little better.
I find that when you give with kindness, it’s an invitation to deeper connection, a bond that transcends the moment itself.
Also, kindness serves as a mirror to my own heart. When I am kind, I feel more in tune with my values and my truest self. There’s something deeply gratifying about knowing I’ve acted in accordance with my own ideals.
It’s like a gentle reminder that I am capable of being a source of good, not just for myself but for others as well.
Through these acts, I’ve come to realize that kindness is not just about what I do — it’s about how I show up in the world. It helps me reconnect with the person I am being: someone who cares, who uplifts others, who believes in the power of good in this world.
I won’t lie, sometimes doing good can be a little exhausting. Sometimes it feels that I don´t know how to set limits and sometimes I let people take advantage of my willingness to give.
Also, there are days when life feels overwhelming, and it’s easy to forget the power of kindness. But if I push through and reach out to do something positive for another person, the joy it brings is beyond words.
It’s a high unlike any other, and it doesn’t fade. It lingers in my heart, leaving behind a sense of peace and fulfillment.
What I’ve learned this week is that kindness isn’t a one-way street. It’s cyclical. Every time I act with kindness, others respond to that kindness.
It may not be the same person which I helped or shared with, but life rewards me and I in turn feel even more inspired to continue. It’s a beautiful, never-ending circle of joy.
I’ve come to realize that kindness doesn’t just fill my heart — it expands it. It broadens my capacity to love, to connect, and to be grateful. And in a world that often feels divided, that’s a gift I treasure beyond measure.
