Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, NARCing All the Way
As the holiday season jingles its way into my life, I found myself reflecting on a powerful concept I learned about in Week 13!
Understanding this concept by practicing the given activity has not impacted my thoughts but has begun to transform my approach to my business and personal growth: Neurological Associative Reactive Conditioning (NARC).
This Christmas week, I leveraged NARC to achieve something I once thought impossible – adding 50 new prospects to my BARNAJE Business contact list and inviting them all to watch a presentation.
Understanding NARC
I learned that Neurological Associative Reactive Conditioning is about understanding how my brain form associations between experiences and emotions. Best of all, by recognizing these patterns, I can recondition my responses to align with my Definite Major Purpose (DMP).
The principle is simple, like all humans, I am driven by the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain. Unlike animals, I have the unique ability to reflect on my experiences and make conscious choices.
My Journey with NARC
For a long time, I dreaded making calls to potential partners. The mere thought of it made me angry that my friends and family would react negatively to me getting involved in “another scam” and nervous that I am going to fail once again.
I was also angry with myself for allowing myself to be talked into yet another one of these fruitless ventures. It certainly wasn’t a pleasurable experience. In fact, I often joked that I am so weak to be fooled once again due to the frustration it caused me. But this Christmas, I decided to change my approach using NARC.
I began by leveraging my mind to create new associations. Instead of focusing on the discomfort of making calls, I started associating massive pleasure with the potential success these calls could bring to the accomplishment of my DMP.
I visualized that by the end of 2030, I am feeling healthy, fulfilled and joyful being financially independent, living in the home of my dreams, supporting my family and community, and building efficient schools for underprivileged children (all while enjoying a fulfilling, healthy, and joyful life)!
Oh, the positive outcomes that await me – new partners, successful responses to presentations, and the growth of my business. This mental shift made all the difference to successfully achieving my DMP!
The Results
With this new mindset, I was able to add 50 new prospects to my BARNAJE Business contact list in just one week. Not only did I reach out to them, but I also invited all 50 to a presentation about my business.
This was a significant milestone for me because I had always been afraid to tell my friends and associates about my business ventures. In the past, some had followed me and lost their money, which made me fear they would “turn to the hills like rats from a sinking ship.”
However, by using NARC techniques, I overcame this fear. I focused on the potential benefits for my prospects and how my business could genuinely help them. This shift in perspective not only boosted my confidence but also made my invitations more genuine and compelling.
Conclusion
This holiday season has been a testament to the power of Neurological Associative Reactive Conditioning. By changing how I associate experiences with emotions, I’ve been able to achieve goals that once seemed out of reach.
As I jingle all the way into the new year, I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and grateful for the lessons learned through NARC.
May your holidays, like mine, be filled with joy, growth, and new opportunities!
