It’s Simple But Mighty

The battle is in the mind. Most of what we struggle with comes from the thoughts we let linger too long and that sets us on a trajectory that is not where we want to go. Doing the simple exercise of writing three things I’m grateful for each day on index cards has been transformational.

Once I got the big gratitudes out of the way I could then focus on the simple wonderful things that make life so special. Those tiny things that I often overlook or take for granted are now coming into greater focus. They are the foundation for so many things to be built on.

It is hard to be negative and judgemental when you are grateful. Scrolling through the piles of cards each day is a wonderful reminder of how blessed I am. It has really helped me to focus on the right things that help to move me toward my goals and life purpose.

As I continue to be an observer of life, I am working hard on remaining neutral when it comes to wanting to voice my opinion. This behavior is really hard to keep in check but I’m learning and growing in the discipline each day.
