Blog #3

Life continues to surprise me. There’s so much I miss the first time around. Now I understand why wisdom really does come with age. People must go around the planet a few times (many times, decades….) to pick up on life principles that get missed the first time.

Reading Haanel chapter 3 for the 3rd time, in combination with rewriting my DMP and receiving the direct critique of principles I thought I knew, something in Haanel’s reading jumped up and grabbed me.

Backing up a little bit, last year, Haanel Chapter #3, paragraph #28, impressed me deeply. I rewrote this section in the first person and have read it every day since. I looked up many of the words for fresh and precise meaning and rewrote them in the first person to embed them deep into Subby.

This is what I wrote:

I am the channel by which the unchangeable is being altered; this process is accomplished by deliberate acquisition. It only requires recognition to set causes in motion that bring out results in accordance with my desire. This is accomplished because the universal can act only through me, the individual, and I, the individual, can act only through the universal. We are one.

My AHA moment was my conscious realization of the 2 sentences before. Haanel #3, 27.

The finite cannot inform the infinite. You are simply to say what you desire, NOT how you are to obtain it. Charles Haanel

As I’m rewriting my DMP this year (for the third time around), I realize that I was limiting my ability to acknowledge my heart’s desire because I believed I could only desire what was practical for me to obtain. I somehow felt I needed to know how to achieve it first.

I created my goals with my current self-limiting beliefs and logical process, asking, “What can I logically achieve for myself at this time in my life?” That limitation has squelched the ability to identify the desires of the heart.

It made me think of the man in Wallace Wattles’ book “The Science of Being Rich,” who dreamed about having a wood stove. He manifested that woodstove and grew to manifest a different life. I’m that man.

It took me about 30 seconds to realize that this is what Mark and Davene are trying to drive into and get past the cement in my brain. I don’t have to know all the details of how I will accomplish my goals. I just need to know what I want. I immediately thought of six things I wanted in my everyday life around my house.

This awareness released a freedom in me to really anchor and identify what I want! It doesn’t have to be a dream somewhere, hoping it will happen. I need to connect with the infinite and give the universe space and opportunity to help me make that dream happen!

Simple, easy, excited!
