Subby, (with an eye roll): “Oh, we’re doing this again?”

Me,( with a giant Cheshire cat grin): “Yep, and this time we’re going all in.”

Subby,( not buying it): “Uh-huh. I thought we were golden already.”

Me, (with sparkling eyes): “We are, but think of this as our next big adventure. Wanna peek at the destination?” (waves 2nd draft of DMP in the air)

Subby, (looking about as excited as a teenager at a family reunion): “Yeah… no I’ll pass, thanks.”

Our Week 2 workbook lays it out for us point blank: feeling overwhelmed is just a sneaky desire to quit in disguise. I wasn’t exactly drowning, but I could see the waves building. Being the keen observer that I am (and somewhat tired of my own caca) I wasn’t about to let this slip away, even if I had to grit my teeth through it.

Here’s where it gets interesting. I’ve turned this whole thing into a chess game with myself.

Morning resistance?
No problem. I’ll just read Og on my commute.

Nighttime slump?

I’ve recorded myself reading Chapter 1 with authentic enthusiasm followed by the recorded lesson. Everything else? Index cards. Oh, and those blue rectangles? They’ve become photographic reminders on my Master Key Experience (MKE) X account, gently urging: DO IT NOW!

Is my approach textbook perfect? No, but it’s yielding delightful results. Gone are the days of self-reproach for missed readings, which used to spiral with alarming speed. This time, it’s different.

As Og so eloquently puts it, “…I’m prepared for wisdom and principles which will guide me out of the shadows into the sunlight of wealth, position, and happiness far beyond my most extravagant dreams…” After all, change only comes from changing.

Now, about Emmet Fox’s 7-Day Mental Diet. I don’t remember printing it, but there it was in my bag this morning, with serendipitous timing. Its essence? Sidestep the negative thought patterns, don’t engage or dwell just let them go. When life presents challenges, address them gracefully, help where you can, and right the matter, then move forward and let the discontent go.

It’s all connected, the Blueprint Builder’s wisdom resonates: “I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects.” It’s a principle of mutual benefit, how we act with ourselves and each other, what we do, what we think…

So here I stand, promise in hand, ready to continue observing myself and life as well as all its intricate connections. Because at the end of the day, I always keep my promises. Even if Subby isn’t quite convinced, YET.
