MKE Week 2 – Guilty of Being A Serial Procrastinator

During last Sunday’s webinar, my fair weather frenemy procrastination was mentioned. My bones shook when it was said my frenemy would be challenged. I have to admit I am guilty of being a serial procrastinator. I have a sign at work that reads “hard work pays off in the future but procrastination pays off now.”

If there is something I don’t want to be bothered with, off to the back burner it goes! Unfortunately over time, my unwillingness to tackle tasks and projects has piled up on me over time.

On another note, I also have to confess over time I have procrastinated in my life due to being afraid of success. I have witnessed people and their businesses get torn down when they try to build and/or work towards bringing a dream to life.

Sometimes I was unfortunately included in that equation when I got the “umph” to change something and/or improve my life. I have never understood people who seem to want what someone else has worked hard for. I do believe if God blesses someone to succeed, God will bless you also if you work for it.

This is the week I realized, my old ways of thinking and side lining myself to please others has to end. I pray I will realize “my bad habits must be destroyed and new furrows prepared for good seed” as Og Mandino mentions in the book “The Greatest Salesman in the World” on page 55. I am also excited to see the beautiful butterflies break from their concrete shell as everyone moves forward towards their purpose.
