There were so many little nuggets of wisdom in this week’s training that made me go back and listen again. I have struggled my whole life with making decisions. Much of it had to do with having a controlling parent who made me jump through hoops and once I did then the target moved. The goal posts kept being moved and I was left knowing that nothing was ever going to be good enough. I was hollow inside without being given the opportunity to develop passions. My operating system had been set at a young age.

Davene called out to the whites and blues when we were doing one of the exercises. She stated that she understood it was hard for those groups to make decisions. What I took away from that was that I am not defective, it is just the way I am and how I process. I am unique and so is the journey I am on. I am looking forward to learning more about the Color Code system and how it plays into who I am.

Old habits die hard, but I think I honestly followed Mark’s directions to pick the first two words that came to me on the list we wrote out. Honestly, I have been obsessed a bit about it since Sunday, wondering if I made the right choices or not. What came to me though is that I made the choices based on trusting that still small voice inside me.

It was also freeing to know that my DMP is a work in progress. I am not sure I have tapped into what is needed yet, but I will continue to work on it. My expectation was that I would be making more discoveries about myself before writing the first draft of the DMP. Not sure where I got that idea from, but you must start somewhere. It reminds me of the saying – You can’t steer a parked car. We must move to get to our destination. I am looking forward to wherever this adventure takes me.

  • I so look forward to observing your Growth this year. I’m a white, and this is honestly just how we are. The Colorcode is a fascinating system to learn, and use when interacting with ourselves and others.

  • Your journey of self-discovery is truly inspiring! It’s wonderful to see you embracing the realization that your uniqueness is a strength, not a flaw. Trusting that still small voice is a huge step toward reclaiming your power and creating your own path. As you continue working on your DMP, remember, it’s perfectly okay for it to evolve—after all, every great journey unfolds one step at a time! Keep moving forward, just like that car on the road to your destination.
