This week has been an interesting one. I just had Hurricane Helene pass by on the west coast of Florida and into Georgia and the Carolinas. Even though I am in Florida about 100 miles from the west coast, I still got a lot of damage from high winds and tree debris. It took some time to clean up
Then,
Hurricane Milton came roaring into the Tampa and Sarasota area of Florida. My sister, Linda chose to stay there with her son, John in a home Linda owns but she is going to sell. She and her husband, Erik have a home in Armistead Lane Tampa and left it. Too many large oaks that needed trimming and possibility of flooding.
Erik went to his mom’s home on the opposite side of Tampa to stay with her and her husband, Hugh who is nearly 100 years old. Lots of debris, no power for either house or the house on Armistead Lane. That house has some major street flooding but Linda doesn’t know if it got into the home or the remaining car there. Her neighbor up around the corner has showed her some photos. Very flooded streets. One big mess all around Tampa.
The house she is in is in the Indian Oaks area. Large trees at other neighbors are down and debris in front of Linda’s house piled up nearly above her head. She and John managed to get to Lowes to use their wifi to submit a paper for John’s class at USF. The opposite direction where Walmart and a Publix shopping center where not reachable due to major flooding.
I have checked with other friends and family around the state. All seem to be OK. Neighbors helped me here with big stuff.
I appreciate the MKE class for having the understanding of this situation..

OMG! I feel so sorry for your family! You describe the situation very vivid and I can’t imagine what they are going through and I hope Hugh is okay! 100 years young! God Bless Him!
